For most owners the total sits between €125 and €524, and the certificate then lasts two years. The training part depends on your dog and your trainer, so ask them for a quote before you start.
Example: first certification
Example only. Your trainer sets the training price, and some dogs need more or fewer sessions. Airline, vet and travel costs are not included.
An ESTCA certificate is valid for two years from the date of your dog's final assessment. The expiry date is on the certificate, the travel pass and the public register.
The certificate stays valid for two years, as long as the public register shows it as Certified at the time you travel.
Before it expires, any ESTCA-approved assessor can re-assess your dog against the same five areas. Your trainer sets the price for the renewal.
An expired certificate shows as Expired in the register. You can re-certify by repeating the full assessment, with no waiting period.
Validity and renewal follow section E.4 of the ESTCA standard. About the standard
Flying with a dog brings a few costs that PlanePaws does not charge or set.
Joining is free. The platform licence is €99 per year, starting after your first certification, plus €35 per certified dog.
Takes about a minute. You only pay for the pass once your dog passes.
